From The Bahamas to Alberta

My passion for education began over 15 years ago in the vibrant classrooms of The Bahamas. It was there that I first realized teaching isn't just about delivering a lesson—it’s about the human connection behind it.

Today, I bring that same warmth and global perspective to families here in Alberta. I believe that when a child feels truly connected to their teacher, their confidence blossoms, and their competence naturally follows.

I am a practicing classroom teacher based right here in Airdrie. Because I interact with the current Alberta curriculum daily, our sessions are never "out of date." What makes my approach unique? I hold a degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting. In my sessions, ASL isn't just a language—it’s a powerful, non-verbal tool. By infusing sign language and movement into our academic lessons, I create "cognitive anchors." This helps K-6 learners quite literally see, feel, and move through complex concepts, making learning fun, low-anxiety, and unforgettable.

Beyond the Classroom

When I’m not building bridges for my students, you’ll find me playing with my four-legged best friend, Marlee, or curled up on the couch with a cup of coffee and a good book.
